The first District had its election and the Officers for 2012-2013 are:

Commander    Robert S.Kish

Sr Vice Commander   John W. Rukna

Jr Vice Commander    William Buchanan

Quartermaster   Robert Jackson

Chaplain    William Ross

Judge Advocate  Joe Fernandez

3 Year Trustee   David Ash

 

The State Commander spoke about working on getting a WV. plate for the VFW and more info will come.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYOR

There will be a National Day of Prayer on MAY 3rd 2012 At the Wheeling WV. Heritage Port Amphitheather at 6:30PM all are invited to attend.

OHIO VALLEY COST  OF FREEDOM

There will be the OHIO VALLEY COST OF FREEDOM and AMERICAN VETERANS TRAVELING TRIBUTE on August 22nd to Aug26th 2012 at the City of Moundsville WV.

The program will have a lot of things going on and there will be Banquets each evening for veterans of conflicts and wars from 7:00pm till 9:00pm for each era of veteranS.

There will be more posted when it becomes avaliable.  You need to mark your calanders for this event.

Help will be needed for this project such as labor and donations to help with the cost of bringing  this to Moundsville WV.

Wreath across America at Cabella's

The Department of West Virginia and District 1 helped with the program Wreaths across America on December 4th 2011 at Cabela's

 

A huge thank you to Cabela's at the Highlands in West Virginia for putting on this program.

Wreaths across America

Cabela's at the Highlands in West Virginia will Have a program on December 4th at 4PM to dedicate  the Wreaths.  The wreath  at the store will be one like the ones that will be placed at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at Bridgeville Pennsylvania.

There will be a program and lighting of luminaria candles along the road that the Werath will take.

All are welcome to attend this program.
