Wisconsin Chapter of Operation Homefront Desires Candidates to Fill Chapter President/Executive Director Position

The Wisconsin chapters of Operation Homefront are merging. We are currently looking to fill the position of Chapter President/Executive Director of the merged chapters. While this will be a paid position, the best candidates should have a heart for the organization's mission. Office location in Wisconsin yet to be determined and could be near the new Chapter President's home city.
Mission:
Operation Homefront provides emergency assistance and morale to our troops, to the families they leave behind and to wounded warriors when they return home. A nonprofit 501(c)(3), Operation Homefront leads more than 4,500 volunteers in 30 chapters nationwide and has provided critical assistance to more than 45,000 military families in need. Operation Homefront nationally, also operates CinCHouse, the online community of nearly 400,000 military wives and women in uniform.

Qualifications for the position:

Passion for the cause of helping our troops and their families who make the greatest sacrifices

Experience in non-profit management (highly desired)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience organizing and facilitating special events

Ability to secure foundation support and grant writing experience

Commitment to perform fundraising activities among private and public donors and constituents

Organizational skills, attention to details with special attention to published materials for the organization

Administration and financial management experience

Job Description:
Plan, coordinate, and execute office activities and functions pertaining to multiple farm programs related to compliance, disaster assistance, conservation, uninsured crops, Geographic Information Systems, and other farm programs. Utilize IBM System 36/AS400 and Microsoft computer applications to maintain producer and program data, to compile data and create reports, and to process forms. Interpret and accurately explain procedures, program regulations, and required form completion to producers. Maintain office files and protect customer personal information. Must be able to work independently, with minimal and infrequent supervision. Requires a high degree of initiative and judgment, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and effective written, oral, and interpersonal communications.

Firefighter/Paramedic

This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list for use in filling vacancies occurring during the next twelve to twenty-four months. Responsibilities involve fire prevention and suppression of fires, protection of life and property and paramedic ambulance services. Successful applicants will be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license, possess a high school diploma or its equivalent; hold an EMT/Paramedic license, and have an Associate or Bachelor Degree in the Fire Science field and a Fire Fighter I Certification.
