EXECUTIVE ORDER # 237
Relating to a Proclamation that the
Flag of the United States
and the Flag of the State of Wisconsin
be Flown at Half-Staff
as a Mark of Respect for
Private First Class Keith Lloyd
of the United States Army
Who Lost His Life
During Operation Iraqi Freedom
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2008, Private First Class Keith Lloyd, a member of the 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, United States Army, died as a result of injuries sustained during enemy action in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, Private First Class Keith Lloyd provided faithful and honorable service to the people of the State of Wisconsin and the people of the United States; and
WHEREAS, the people of Wisconsin mourn the death of Private First Class Keith Lloyd; and
WHEREAS, Private First Class Keith Lloyd will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 22, 2008;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JIM DOYLE, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, by the authority vested in me by Federal and State law, do hereby order that the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff at all buildings, grounds and military installations of the State of Wisconsin equipped with such flags beginning at sunrise on January 22, 2008, and ending at sunset on that date.

Gubernatorial Executive Orders pertaining to special flag display are binding only on state office buildings and facilities. Individuals and other organizations are invited to join the state in this display of respect at their own volition. VFW Posts are encouraged to participate in honoring our war dead in like manner.
