Handicapped bathroom now complete!!
The hall now has a handicapped bathroom upstairs, so with the wheel chair ramp it is now handicapped accessable!! The floor has new tile in the bar addition, the north addition, & bath room. The porch has another door and boxed in to make a supply room. The furniture has been moved around to make it look roomier and friendly! Thanks to the many volunteers, Glen Collins, Bob Labathe, Barb Henck, Doug Gunderson, Wayne Petersen, Tom Jirik, Tom Rodgers, & Dave Mathews. If I forgot anyone I'm turily sorry!! That alone is alot of work!
The Thursday Night Auction has a lot of changes also!! There is a desk, and cash register to look more professional. The volunteers have increased. The old and new faces are Sandy White, Peggy Gillespie, Debra Handy, Diana Wise, Lisa Duden, Bob LBathe and don't forget Alfred Larson the volunteer auctioneer. There jobs may change from recorder to cashier, but the faces remain. The bartenders are Tony Robak and Sherry Martin. On the food is Tom Rodgers. The meat raffle is Dan Gillespie, Dave mathews, Tom Jirik. As always they are looking for more volunteers, so not to have to be there every Thursday!!
With all that going on we have not forgot about the communities and our programs. Both the Post and Auxiliary are in the middle of Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy at the schools. They have marched in the Little Falls and Wonderoo's 4th of July parades, Range Days parade and the Turtle Lake parade. Let us not forget the Fall Festival Parade. We had the color and honor guard lead off with the flat bed of veterans behind that. That was a good showing from the veterans. Also joining us were veterans from Turtle Lake, Centuria, St. Croix County & Milltown. After the parade all veteran were invited to the hall for snacks and refreshments. It was a fun day!! Were not done yet. They had the June Flag disposal, and don't forget the 9-11 program at the middle & intermediate schools with the Police & Fire Departments.
We have also done several Veterans Funeral Honors over the summer. This includes our own members which we will miss dearly. These include: Donald Dosch, Gordie White, Merlin Everson, & Kenneth Madsen. Our sincere condolences to all the families!!
So as you can see it as been a very busy summer fo us! As for me (Webmaster) I have to apologize for not keeping this website update like it should be. Hopefully that will now change. I'm working this week on downloading & updating the pages from this summer on the photo album part of the web. As I'm doing that you can check these out under the 2009 section.
Check out the 9-11 program at the middle & intermediate schools. Because of the time both speeches, The student and H. Stower mayor have been omitted.
