8th Distict To Hold Their Spring Meeting At DePere April 13, 2008

Our 8th District Spring Meeting will be hosted by DePere VFW #2113 Post & Auxiliary at the Community Sports Corner. The Sports Corner is located at 500 Grant Street in DePere.

Directions: From Highway 41 are to turn into DePere on Hwy G (Exit 163A). Follow Hwy G which becomes Main Avenue into DePere about 0.7 miles. Turn right on to 5th Street going 0.1 miles, then turn left on Grant Street and into the Sports Corner parking lot.

Dinner at 11:30 AM       Comrades Meeting at 1:00 PM        Ladies Auxiliary at 1:00 PM

Dinner: Choice of 3 lunches at cost of $12.00 each. Please specify when sending check if you would like.

              6 oz. Baked Haddock,

              6 oz. Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin or

              6 oz. Marinted Chicken Breast.

Note: All will be served with salad, buttered baby red potatoes, vegetable medley and carrot cake.

Special Note: Our Department Guest representative will be Department Commander William "Bill" Hustad.

Our 8th District Winter Meeting To Be Held On Saturday January 26, 2008

Our 8th District Winter Meeting will be hosted by Appleton Post & Auxiliary # 2778 at the VFW Clubhouse, 501 N. Richmond Street, in Appleton on Saturday, January 26th. A dinner of chicken and swiss steak with all the trimmings will be served at 11:30 a.m. for a cost of $13.00 which includes tax and tip. For reservations, please mail checks to Mike & Judy Borg, 1809 N. Oneida Street, Appleton, WI 54911-2915 (920-739-5730) no later than January 18th.

Lets try to have a really good attendance at this dinner for our VOD and Patriot's Pen Winners and these program activities.

Directions to the Appleton VFW Post 2778 Clubhouse:

From North Highway 41: turn into Appleton on Hwy 47 (Richmond Street) Exit. Follow Richmond South to the corner of Packard/Richmond Streets.

Coming Hwy 41 from the South, please take the College Avenue Exit (Hwy 125) off Hwy 41 and follow College Avenue east into Appleton to the corner of Richmond Street, turning left and going 5 blocks to the VFW Clubhouse.

If coming in on Hwy 10, please follow all the way into Appleton. It will become Memorial Drive which turns into Richmond Street after crossing College Avenue.

Notes: The District Comrades Meeting will be held at the Clubhouse after the dinner at 1:30 p.m. with the Auxilary meeting at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida Street 1:30 p.m. 

8th District Fall Conference Details Finalized

Fall Conference Sunday October 21, 2007

Otto Oss VFW Post 659 Manitowoc will host the Fall Conference. Lunch will be served at 11:30 A.M. with meeting to start at 1:00 P.M. School of Instruction for White Hat following meeting, if required.

Veterans and our Ladies Auxiliary activties will be held at the Manitowoc's Meadow Lanes North (Bowling Lanes) - 1540 Johnson Drive - Manitowoc, WI.

Lunch served at 11:30 am. Chicken & Tips, family style. Cost $13.00 per person (tips & taxes incl.)
