May 2009 Survey

Last Month's Survey Results
April's question: Is the government doing enough to help returning troops find civilian employment?
Approximately 84% of respondents believe the government needs to increase its efforts amid an economically difficult climate. Others, however, believe the government is taking necessary steps to assist disabled vets, and healthy vets need to assume a more proactive role in their search for a job.
- "Our troops have suffered through many deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, so our government should help them more than they are."
- "Unless there has been a "drastic change" since my retirement from active duty, I'd say NO."
- "The few returnees I know are having a bit of a problem finding work. They are looking into staying in the federal sector, HR, etc. The returning vets deserve any Federal job if they meet the criteria over a civilian."
- "How can they help the veterans get employment, when there are no jobs for anyone?"
