History of this Post: Established as the Sergt Ambrose R. Williams VFW Post in 1933 with Oscar Glindmeier as the first Commander. SGT Wiliams was a Spanish American veteran who later worked for the Fayetteville, NC police department. The current facilities were completed in 1965.

Meeting Dates: Second Thursday of each month (General Membership) 7:30 PM Third Thursday of each month (Social) 7:30 PM Meetings at the post home at 3928 Doc Bennett Road

Canteen Hours: Thursday and Friday from 6PM until Weekends during special functions

Kitchen Hours: Steak and Shrimp Night on Fridays from 6 PM to 8 PM then music in the ballroom to follow

Other Information: Post home of Past State Commander (2007-2008) John Shelander. Military Order of the Cootie, LaFayette Nits, Pup Tent 24, meets at the post the 1st Thursday at 7:30 PM. Rentals available for Wedding Receprions, Unit Home Commings, Christmas Parties, Special Dinners, etc. See photo album for set-ups. The post is wired for wireless internet access Bingo is held each Monday and Wednesday from Noon on--
