History of this Post: The post was chartered in 1933 and received a Perpetual Charter in 1972. Named for World War II hero, Waverly Owen Skidmore, who died fighting in France, the original charter bears the name of his father Lloyd Skidmore Sr. Lloyd Skidmore Jr. Col. US Army Retired is a life member of the post. The post has active Ladies & Men's Auxiliaries and several active post members who have served with distinction in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Middle East - Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait.

Meeting Dates: Monthly Members & Ladies Auxiliary - third Monday 6:30 PM with potluck dinner. Men's Auxiliary - second Saturday 9 AM

Canteen Hours: Open 4 PM daily

Kitchen Hours: Currently serving dinners on Thursday evenings 5-8 PM. A different-set menu, each Thursday, served by volunteers from the post. Cost $5-7. Call ahead to check menu and availability.

Other Information: Post home grounds very picturesque setting with stocked fishing lake on 11 acres.
