2009 Military Order of the Cootie Tomb Trek

On November 7, 2009 the Military Order of the Cootie placed wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknowns as it does each year to honor veterans of all wars of the United States.

Grand of North Carolina Holds Fall Scratch

The Fall Grand Scratch was held in Spring Lake, North Carolina on September 11th and 12th, 2009. The Sprung Leak Pup Tent No. 8 hosted the scratch at the post home of VFW Post 9103. The Women's Auxiliary held their meeting in the Holiday Inn Express.
The next Grand Scratch will be held Jenuary 8th and 9th, 2010 and will be hosted by the Wharf Rats of Pup Tent 14 located in New Bern, NC. So mark your calendars TODAY. As information is received, it will be posted on this website.

By-Laws and Ritual Changes Approved at Supreme Convention

To see what By-Laws and Ritual changes were presented at the Supreme Convention see the July "Cootie Courier" however B-1 and B-4 were the only changes approved. B-4 concerns Hospital Reporting.
The MAJOR change (B-1) is as follows:
"The officers of each Pup Tent shall consist of a Seam Squirrel, Blanket Bum, Hide Gimlet, Custodian of the Crummy Duffle Bag, and three (3) Tightwads----"
All other positions will be appointed by the the Seam Squirrel.
5th Supreme District Scratch to be Held in Spring Lake

Sprung Leak Pup Tent 8, Spring Lake, NC will host the 5th Supreme District Scratch on the 4th through the 6th of December 2009.
Pup Tent 8 will also conduct a 3rd Degree Ritual on the 5th of December.

"Shorty" Thompson Takes Over the Helm of The Grand of North Carolina

At the Grand Convention in Hickory, NC hosted by the Hickory Nuts of Pup Tent 57, Donald "Shorty" Thompson became the 2009-2010 Grand Commander of North Carolina, Military Order of the Cootie of the United States. Sister Barbara Icard was also installed at the Grand President of the Ladies Auxiliary.

2009-2011 Pup Tent and Auxiliary Bonds are Due This Year

Attention all Pup Tents and Auxiliaries:
Bonds for the CCDBs and the Treasurers are due this year for 2009-2011. The bond period will be September 1, 2009 thru 31 August 2011. Each Pup Tent and Aixiliary must have , at least, a $1,000.00 bond in effect.
