Scholarship Themes Released

VFW has announced the scholarship themes for 2008-09. Voice of Democracy will be "Service and Sacrifice by America's Veterans Benefit Today's Youth" That is a mouth full !!!!! The Patriot's Pen theme will be "Why America's Veterans Should be Honored." Submissions for both scholarships are due to local VFW Posts by Nov. 1.
The time to start these programs is now so that teachers can get educated about our programs and plan next years lesson plans to accommodate them. We must do better this coming year. One entry for the entire district last year, and that one generated by the internet ,indicates that our posts our shirking our duties. This we can not continue to do and expect our orginazation to survive.
