Flag Retirement Ceremony

Post 7032, Greenville NC held a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Sat. Sept. 12 at the post home. Attendees participated in the retirement ceremony by placing stars, in honor of each state in the Union, and pieces of the stripes in the memorial flames. Dist. 2 Commander George Schryer assisted in the ceremony by reading the dates that each state was admitted to the Union while a star representing that state was placed on the fire. He also explained the entire process and invited all to participate.
Post member Doug Tilton carefully places stips of a worn out Old Glory in the memorial fire as Post Commander Roger Plant waits in line.
Post Cmdr. Roger Plant places his portion in the flames while Post Qm Scott Smith awaits his turn.
