Greensboro Historical Museum Collecting Local Veteran's Stories
Posted at 08:43 AM on Thursday, April 9, 2009 by dist10
Throughout our nation's history, citizens have answered the country's call to arms. The Greensboro Historical Museum wants to collect stories of Service and Sacrifice from local veterans in their own worlds. These stories and accompanying images will be featured in an upcoming exhibition entitled, Voices of a City, Greensboro, North Carolina, scheduled to open in 2010.All veterans from World War II through the current War on Terror are invited to participate in this project by telling their stories to the museum. In addition to male veterans, the museum is interested in the women who served in or with the Armed Forces, or had experiences through organizations such as the United Service Organizations (USO), the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, or in defense related industry during Second World War.
To learn more about this project, please contact Shawn Rogers at the Greensboro Historical Museum by phone at 333-6834 or by e-mail at shawn.rogers@greensboro-nc.gov. To schedule an interview, please contact Roger Weigold at 327-9144 or by e-mail at rcwgw@msn.com. In your e-mail, please type Veterans Stories in the subject line.
