Post 8045 and Ladies Auxiliary was invited to attend numerous events within our community.Those  included Veterans Luncheon at Maries County Bank, Veterans Day assemblies at St. Joesph, St. Thomas, Fatima Schools and Vienna Schools. We were welcomed with warm smiles and " Thank You". When you have a chance to make an impression on our youth however little it may be, you can be rest assured that you have accomplished your mission. Their trip was sponsered by Central Missouri Honor Flight. They saw the recently unveiled World War II Memorial and were greeted by Sen. Bob Dole at the memorial.  Both Kampeter and Falter were not sure if they wanted to go, but now they encourage other veterans to take the trip if at all possible. This has been an annual event for the post for over 60 years. Thanks to the members that started this awesome event. The shooting match consisted of shotgun and rifle matches that provide a chance for the lucky winners to take away a ham or turkey. We were able to hold 15  rounds of shotgun and 2 rounds of rifle matches, with a money round throughout the afternoon. The meal and homemade desserts were provided by the members, along with a Country Store and Bingo for the community to enjoy.
