Argyle Post 8045 Comrades see their WWII Memorial in Washington D.C.

Comrade Kampeter and Comrade Falter were part of 65 veterans that participated in a Honor Flight to the nation's capital October 27, 2009. Their trip was sponsered by Central Missouri Honor Flight. They saw the recently unveiled World War II Memorial and were greeted by Sen. Bob Dole at the memorial. Both Kampeter and Falter were not sure if they wanted to go, but now they encourage other veterans to take the trip if at all possible. To them this was a "Welcome Home" each had never felt before.

Post 8045 Annual Shooting Match & Chicken Dinner a Success

Argyle Post 8045 held their Annual Shooting Match and Chicken Dinner on November 8th. This has been an annual event for the post for over 60 years. Thanks to the members that started this awesome event.
The shooting match consisted of shotgun and rifle matches that provide a chance for the lucky winners to take away a ham or turkey. We were able to hold 15 rounds of shotgun and 2 rounds of rifle matches, with a money round throughout the afternoon.
The meal and homemade desserts were provided by the members, along with a Country Store and Bingo for the community to enjoy.
A good time was had by all.
