On Friday, September 11, 2009, Eureka Memorial Post 5468 assisted with the Obrien Post 177 American Legion with the Eureka Days Openning Flag Raising Ceremony and 9-11 Memorial Ceremony. Chris Weber of Post 5468 stated that with the Attacks of 9-11, and recalling President Bush's statement that it was considered to be an act of war, that those who perished that day were in fact, casualties of war. Weber then stated that we could consider those who perished as our Comrades in Arms who should be remembered properly. Beings that many of the bodies were never recovered, they could be considered as Missing in Action. Weber then conducted the POW / MIA Table Ceremony to tie the 9-11 loss with the remaining POW Issue.
