VFW Post #10838 was chartered on 25 September 1989 with 75 members. Fifteen (15) of the original 75 members remain on our roster. Currently we have 81 members, 47 of which are life members. Average attendance at our monthly meeting is 12%.
In 1995 a VFW Ladies Auxiliary was established. The Post and Auxiliary support each other and both are very active.
The Post has two fund raisers each year. Memorial Day weekend we have our annual Buddy Poppy drive, and the weekend before Veterans' Day we solicit donations for 4" x 6" American Flags. The Buddy Poppy drive and flag solicitations are held at area supermarkets. The residents of St. Peters are very generous and supportive of our organization.
