Veteran's Memorial to be dedicated Nov. 11 in Nixa

A joint effort between veterans and the city of Nixa will soon provide a permanent Veteran's Memorial in front of the Nixa Community Center.A dedication ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 11.
The event will include patriotic music, guest speakers, school children singing and a monument unveiling will highlight the ceremony on this special occasion.
The idea for this memorial to remember and honor all veterans was presented to the Nixa city aldermen in April. After support from the city, the project moved forward with design and construction during the past four months.
Volunteer labor and donated materials kept the cost to a minimum, a news release said.
About $10,000 in donations have been received so far and any additional donations will go to help maintain the memorial.
