For Vietnam Veterans

A Veteran who served in the Republic of Vietnam between January 9, 1962 and May 7, 1975 is presumed to have been exposed to Agent Orange and other herbicides used in support of military operations.
 
Eleven diseases are presumed by VA to be service-connected for such veterans:
                   Chloracne or other acneform disease similar to chlorane
                   Prophyria cutanea tarda
                   Soft-tissue sarcome (other than osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Kaposi's sarcome and mesothelioma)
                   Hodgkin's disease
                   Multiple myeloma
                   Respiratory cancers (lung, bronchus, larynx, trachea)
                   Non-Hodgkin's lymphona
                   Prostrate Cancer
                   Acute and subacute peripheral neuropathy
                   Diabetes mellitus (Type 2)
                   Chronic lymphocytic leukemia

If you have filed a claim previously and have been denied, please consider re-filing.

If you have not filed a claim, and believe you fall into one of these categories, please consider filing a claim.

Clinton Missouri celebrates Old Glory Days

Comrade Steve Fantz Drives the VFW Themed Float "On Olde Fashioned Fourth of July Homecoming".  In the back of his truck are Post 1894 Commander Bob Wonnell (Comrade Wonnell is also the MO Department Surgeon) and Ladies Auxiliary President Dorothy Stocking.
Comrades Chester Jones (L) and Bob Easton (R) and Sisters Jacque Thuma (L) and Rai Remer (R) along with a couple of children of Comrade Steve Talley on the Themed Float.  This float won a Best Entry Award.  Comrade Jones, a CPO in the Naval Reserve is wearing Comrade Charlie Fry's WWII Uniform.  Comrade Fry is a D-Day + 3 Veteran and has been a VFW Member since 1945.

Our Ride-On float for this year is loaded with Veterans, their spouses and family from WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Both of the Instructors are VFW members.  Comrades King and Cogdill do a wonderful job working with the youth in the program.  They have taken numerous honors around the State.

Hummers was driven by Russell Sharmin and the other by Wayne Gogdill both
VFW Post 1894 members. Sgt Cogdill is also the Clinton ROTC instructor and
Sgt Sharmin is a Sedalia Army Recruiter

Protection, Bob Wonnell, Chairman, and is driven by Kevin Brazil and holding
the trophy is  Comrade Nolan Rutter both Rural Fire Board Members
Some of the local Boy Scouts who also helped VFW Post 1894 members put up flags on the Square in preparation for the beginning of festivities.  Great job Scouts!
A hearty "Thank You" to all who assisted this year and helped make the parade a success.

Past District 6 Commander elected to Missouri Department Surgeon

Congratulations to Bob Wonnell Past Commander of District 6, and Post Commander of Post 1894, on his election to Missouri Department Surgeon.  He looks forward to providing the best possible assistance to veterans through his inspections of Missouri's VA Medical Centers, VA Medical Clinics and Veterans Homes.
