For Vietnam Veterans

A Veteran who served in the Republic of Vietnam between January 9, 1962 and May 7, 1975 is presumed to have been exposed to Agent Orange and other herbicides used in support of military operations.
 
Eleven diseases are presumed by VA to be service-connected for such veterans:
                   Chloracne or other acneform disease similar to chlorane
                   Prophyria cutanea tarda
                   Soft-tissue sarcome (other than osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Kaposi's sarcome and mesothelioma)
                   Hodgkin's disease
                   Multiple myeloma
                   Respiratory cancers (lung, bronchus, larynx, trachea)
                   Non-Hodgkin's lymphona
                   Prostrate Cancer
                   Acute and subacute peripheral neuropathy
                   Diabetes mellitus (Type 2)
                   Chronic lymphocytic leukemia

If you have filed a claim previously and have been denied, please consider re-filing.

If you have not filed a claim, and believe you fall into one of these categories, please consider filing a claim.

Veterans Advisory Council Meeting

VFW Post 7356 located at 10125 Tom Watson Prkwy, Parkville, MO will host Congressman Sam Graves "Veterans Advisory Council Meeting" on Monday June 16. 2008 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.  He will discuss veterans issues, as well as the economy and energy subjects, then finish with a question and answer session.  All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Announces 1st District Meeting for 2008-09 Program Year

When:  Sunday, August 10th, 2008
        Schedule:  Open House for Post 12053 serving Breakfast 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
            at their new Post Home.  (See map below)
        Joint Meeting at 1:00 p.m. at Lion’s Club (See map below)
                                                  Special Guest Speaker
        VFW Meeting 2:00 p.m. at Lion’s Club
        Ladies Auxiliary Meeting and School of Instruction
        Lion’s Club at 2:00 p.m.

Where:  VFW Post 12053 Savannah at their new Post Home in Amazonia.

Directions:  From the south take I-29 north to I-229 north.  North of St. Joseph take exit marked K-Hwy Amazonia and Boy Scout Camp Gieger.  Go north to Amazonia.  From the north take I-29 south to I-229 and take the K-Hwy exit.  If you are driving south on US-371 you can also exit a T-Hwy and come south into town.  If you are west bound on US-36 continue west through St. Joseph and take the I-229 exit north and follow the directions above.  See map on reverse.  Post is located within the triangle created by K highway, Hackberry, and 1st St.  The Lions Club is located at the corner of 4th and Hackberry.  Click here for a flyer for your Post.

The May Missourian is now out.

This is the largest that has been issued in quite some time so it will take a minute to load.  Be patient, it is worth the wait.  Lots of good photos and stories.  The line officers have done a tremendous job with their articles also.  It does take Adobe Reader to access.
