Dist 18 Teacher Award

    Ava VFW Post 5993's National Citizenship Education Teacher Award winner Bob Rogers will represent District 18 at the Department awards ceremony in Jefferson City in February.  As the Ava Elementary School Assistant Principal, Mr. Rogers, a Navy veteran, organizes numerous patriotic programs and activities at his school.  Mr. Rogers was nominated for the award by Ava Elementary School Principal Diana Premer.  Shown in the photo are Gene Silvey, Post 5993 Quartermaster and project co-chairman; Diana Premer; Bob Rogers; and Marianne Goodwater, Ladies Auxiliary President and project co-chairman.
