C of O students to assist WW II veterans on battlefield trip

College of the Ozarks students will return to a World War II battlefield in September in the company of several veterans, according to the school.
Twelve students will assist six veterans of Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands on Sept. 15-22.
Operation Market Garden was the largest airborne battle in history and was an attempt by the Allies to take the Netherlands from the Nazis.
It is considered the biggest defeat suffered by the Allies during the northwest European campaign.
The students will work with the Greatest Generations Foundation on the trip.
In June, 20 C of O students accompanied ten D-Day veterans to the invasion’s 65th anniversary in France.
