Ceremony to honor sacrifices of veterans

The Military Order of the Purple Heart -- in Missouri -- will honor veterans who have lost their lives in the Iraq and Afghanistan war during a ceremony Nov. 8 in Branson, according to a news release.The program is sponsored by the Combat Wounded Veterans, the Missouri Veterans' Commission, the MOPH and Gen. Daniel Bissell, Chapter 125 MOPH in Fenton.
Musical guests will include Barbara Fairchild and the Graceway Baptist Church choir.
A special presentation will be made to each veteran's family by the MOPH Missouri Commander Carl A. Dietrich, U.S. Navy, retired, the release said.
The ceremony will start at 7 p.m. at the Starlite Theatre, 3115 W. Missouri 76.
A reception for the families and dignitaries will follow.
