VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS
DEPARTMENT OF MISSOURI
SCOUT OF THE YEAR WINNER
The 2007-2008 Scout of the Year competition within the Department of Missouri was a tremendous success this year, with a number of very qualified entries into the program. We are pleased to announce that Justin Daniel Wenk, sponsored by VFW Post 3944 in Overland, MO was chosen as the Department of Missouri winner. Justin is a member of Troop 581, Crestwood, MO, and has been very active in scouting, his community and his school.
Justin's entry into the program was forwarded to Veterans of Foreign Wars National Headquarters for consideration in the VFW National Scout of the Year competition and its $5,000 scholarship. We wish Justin good luck in that competition, and success in all his future endeavors.

Pictures of Tom Hartman, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Missouri Department Senior Vice Commander; the Boyer brothers from VFW Post 1831, De Soto, MO; Bob Wonnell, VFW MO Department Veterans Service Information Officer, several members of VFW Post 1894, Clinton, MO (Bob Hubbard, Harold Houk, Gary Hook) and many fine folks that joined Post 1894 in its' 7th annual Veterans Golf Tournament at the Clinton, MO Country Club on Sunday, May 18, 2008. The weather was great and all proceeds from this tournament will go to the VFW National Military Services Program and the Veterans Service Program. VFW Post 1894 in Clinton annually holds this tournament and keeps none of the proceeds for themselves. The tournament is designed to do exactly what the VFW exists for and that's to help Veterans, their surviving spouses, and their orphan children. Bob Wonnell was the tournament chairman this year and wishes to thank all the members of the VFW, the Clinton Country Club and especially the Hole Sponsors and the golfers who helped make this tournament a great success.
