Commander-in-Chief Honors Dr. King
Posted at 02:25 PM on Saturday, January 19, 2008 by LA VFW
On January 21, the 2.3 million members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Auxiliaries will join Americans across the nation to celebrate and honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.Dr. King taught that courage, hope, dignity, truth and service have no boundaries. He understood and greatly valued the spirit that unites men and women from all walks of life who daily serve on the frontlines to defend our nation and our way of life.
As veterans of foreign wars, we take pride in sharing those same values and ethics. Dr. King ultimately paid the price for the sake of justice and equality for all Americans.
George Lisicki
VFW Commander-in-Chief
