This past Saturday I had the honor to present two flag cases and memorial commendation to two young girls who lost their father tragically. Myself and Bill Plotner convoyed to the Sedalia , MO VFW. Samantha (14) and Jessica (10) lost their father 4 years ago in a traffic accident while he was home visiting mom and them before he shipped to Iraq. Thanks to our great connection with the Ft Leavenworth ACS they asked us to help the family out. Mother of these daughters dropped them off at Grandmas and took off with dad's money. Grandma is working a couple jobs taking care of them now. They are now of the age to understand what happened and have asked about his service and wanted something to remember dad by. Post 56 took donations and with the help from National we bought these beautiful flag cases and presented them to the daughters. Your Post has really made difference in these two girls lives. I asked them to honor their dad by being the best daughters and Americans they could be. Be very Proud of your Post and this great organization of the Veterans of Foreign Wars!!
