VFW Hall Rental Directory
« on: February 21, 2010, 09:16:45 pm »
If you visit the stats page of the Forum: http://www.vfwwebcom.org/forum/index.php?action=stats

You will note that number 3 on the Top 10 Topics (by Views) is "Rental of VFW Hall":

http://www.vfwwebcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,2155.0.html

At the time of this posting that topic had been viewed 27178 and this one "hall rentals" 10426 times:

http://www.vfwwebcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,3154.0.html

Now put those numbers together and you are looking at over 30,000 potential VFW Hall Rental customers. That could mean potentiality hundreds of thousands of dollars that our local Posts who rent out their facilities could be missing out on.

Optimal solution will be to create a National VFW Hall Directory, but until then, if you visit one of the above 2 entries you will see the ""rental Inquiry"  form (below also) that we inserted. The idea is to see if we can capture some of that traffic and funnel the leads through appropriately identified channels.

Any thoughts?

Good thinking and appropriate action.  I get e-mails on a regular basis from the Dept of Mo weblog wanting to know about renting a particular post.  I try to forward to appropriate e-mail address but with so many posts still not online it is often a futile attempt and then I have to try through more different means.  I really hate not answering because I get so frustrated when I send e-mails to businesses and they never get acknowledged so I do my best to get them the answer they are seeking.

Applause!

We have already had 3 people fill out the VFW Hall Rental inquiry form....now for follow-up.

If you would like to be of assistance by following up in your State on leads and connecting them with possible locations, send me a PM or let me know here.

Thank you.

I get three of four rental requests a week at the Department level. The average VFW "outsider" does not realize that each post controls their own facilities. I try to funnel the request to the closest post once I get that info from the requester.
I just got one today wanting to rent a hall at the Outer Banks in NC. I had to explain to them that there is no post there.
Posts need to, at least, provide points of contact to the Department Blog Masters if they DO rent their halls out.

Ross, quite simple for a Post that uses this web blog system.  Check out www.vfwwebcom.org/mo/post7356 .  We have Hall Rental information on the link section to the right of our Commanders avitar.  Then when someone google's vfw hall rental parkville mo the web search engine brings us right up.

You might want to add a link to header of the web blog regarding hall rentals and let Post that have done so advise you for a link.

How can we link to this site to get our hall listed. This is just what we are looking for.

Does anyone have a contract "boilerplate" that could be adapted?

Details would depend on whether the client wanted our staff to prepare the meal or they brought in their own caterer.
