Hello,
I have a question I hope someone can answer. I have a VFW Auxiliary pin from what I believe to be associated to Post #4558. Could someone please tell me where that post is located, or how to go about finding the information elsewhere ?  I would really appreciate the info. Thank you.

It appears that Post 4558 surrendered its charter as I am unable to find any record of it on line.  If your pin identifies a State, then the Department [State] VFW may beable to provide some information, otherwise I would ask National.

The LA Nat'l website verifies the Auxiliary 4558 does not exist. https://www.ladiesauxvfw.org/eWeb/DynamicPage.aspx?Site=LAVFW&WebKey=9a6b395c-e606-4b42-8b3f-43cdaca1115a
Now there is also a VFW Auxiliary museum in KC.  Ladies Auxiliary at National may also be a source of information as the pin is Auxiliary, as when a Post folds, so does the Auxiliary.

Anyone else got some ideas???

Thank you very much DoggyDaddy! Since this is such a nice vintage pin, I am going to try to contact the museum in Kansas City for more info. You've been very helpful. God Bless America. Grin

Hey I just stumbled across you site and it is awesome.  We are a new post in Ohio and already have 100 members and growing.  I was wondering...where would I find a guide for how to run the meeting and specifically a chart for where all the officers sit?  Is it online?  thanks.

billo, I find your question sort of strange.   Undecided   What is your Posts number???  Are you a Commander, Sr. Vice, Judge Advocate, Chairman of Huh Have you attended a VFW Post meeting (yours or anothers) or District meeting before???  The Podium Edition of the VFW Constitution, By-Laws and Ritual is the base core of all information governing the operations of a Post, its officers and meetings. It can be purchased in book for and CD through the VFW Emblem Supply Catalog.

Hello from the Berlin NJ VFW Post 6253. This is a wonderful site and I'm happy I was told about it. A little background; our Post has been around since 1946 and we have about 300 or so great members. We 've made some changes lately in our officers and one of our goals is to have a website which leads me to my question. When we finally get the site up and running are we able to link with this site?
Thank you,
Dee

Welcome aboard. I linked my Post Page from this site to my (out of date) Post website and it works pretty good - vfweurekamo.com . I haven't tried linking it the other way yet. Waiting until our web developer gets it done. We have several more powers to be that frequent here who can give more detail.

Berlinvfw,

You can link to it the webcom blog and even have your website as part of your signature. Notice I have my Post weblog and my Post Honor Guards under my name.
Why don't you or a fellow Post member claim your VFW Post Weblog.  It is already set-up.  http://www.vfwwebcom.org/nj/post6253   Your Post can have the best of both worlds, Website for people to read, AND a Weblog that people can read, post comments, links, and articles, interact, and its all FREE!

When I signed up I requested my e-mail address be hidden from the public, yet it still shows up.  How can this be corrected.

HELLO THERE IJK,

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME ASKING ABOUT MEMBERSHIP TO JOIN A V.F.W. AND WOULD APPRICIATE ANY DIRRECTION YOU MIGHT WANT TO SHARE. I HAVE DRIVEN BY THE FRONT OF POST 8070 IN AZUSA,CA FOR ALMOST FIVE YEARS. AND EVERYTIME I DO, IT REMINDS ME OF TWO UNCLES MY MOTHER LOST ON THE BEACH AT NORMANDIE IN '44. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THEY WERE BOTH BURIED THERE AND A THIRD UNCLE ON THAT SAME CAMPAIGN, CAME BACK WITH A STEEL PLATE IN HIS HEAD AND WAS TRUELY NEVER THE SAME AFTER THAT. I UNDERSTAND HE DIDN'T LIVE MUCH LONGER AFTER GETTING BACK. IS THERE AN EXCEPTION IN THE CHARTER RULES OF THE V.F.W. THAT WOULD ALLOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO LOST FAMILY ON FOREIGN SOIL TO JOIN A V.F.W. POST? PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE BY WHAT I AM ASKING. SINCE MEMBERSHIP FOR THOSE OF US LEFT BEHIND WOULD BE SOLELY ON THE COAT TAILS OF THOSE WHO PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE FOR THOSE LIKE ME THAT CONTINUE TO ENJOY THE FREEDOMS THEY FOUGHT FOR. I ONLY ASK THIS IN HOPES OF SOMEDAY RUBBING ELBOWS WITH THOSE LIKE MY UNCLES WHO SERVED, BUT CAME BACK.

RESPECTFULLY

Auxiliary VFW memberships are available to family members of individuals that are/were eligible to join the VFW, even if the eligible veteran isn't  affiliated with the VFW. I'm not sure if an uncle qualifies though. Even if it doesn't, I'm sure your local post would be happy to have you around if you'd like to mingle and help lend a hand with their efforts.

Maybe some of the other forum members can provide you with more details. Take care  Wink

Glad you stopped by.  Take a few minutes and register so you can post and share your thoughts with us.  This "Forum" is unlike others you may have visited in as much as we are going to treat each other with courtesy and respect.  No Name Calling or threatening remarks will be used.  This is a "Forum" to answer questions about the VFW and how it works. There are several different subject boards, and if you have a question about almost anything concerning veterans, the VFW, joining the VFW or the Department or Post WebLogs  you will quickly get an answer.  Registering is the first step towards joining our "Online Community".  Please take a few minutes to do so.
One thing that some of us have started doing is putting our Post number behind our name when we register so that we can identify each other while still maintaining an aura of anonymity.  Thank you.
