VFW Post Loses Eminent Domain Case

A 10-year eminent domain dispute between a Veterans of Foreign Wars post and Milwaukee’s redevelopment authority ended Monday with the VFW losing its case and all of its money.

They had nothing invested but received $300,000 and sued for more. Greedy suckers deserve to be treated like this. Does anyone have any further insight on this story? It don't pay to fight "City Hall".

I agree!!!!! The membership was greedy and wanted more.
I expect if the hotel had been sold to a new hotel owner ,
the new owner would of had no obligation to continue their lease
and would of evicted them.
Now
if
the Post was not incorporated, some members
may be receiving a bill.
I wonder who gave the VFW Post's it's legal advise to go to court

The wow factor in the article for me was the court order to return the $300,000.00 to the city with 12% annual interest...that's a really generous return on the city's $$$'s...
