Wil--

Yes, a membership card should arrive in 4-8 weeks from the time of your acceptance. Actually, we run occasional tests and arrival times are closer to 1-2 weeks right now (except for AP and AE military addresses).

If it has been more than a month since you received an approval e-mail, go to emem.vfw.org and log in. If you are having trouble, please contact us at 1-888-JOIN-VFW or membership@vfw.org. We can supply your member ID number which will be required the first time you log in. From eMembership you will be able to request another card and update your address (if needed).

You shouldn't be required to pay any additional fees if you decide to transfer to a local VFW Post until your current annual membership expires. Once you join a VFW Post you will pay an annual fee determined by that Post.

Hope that helps.

Troy

I would recommend that you contact the post there and join.  Thanks for trying through the website.  I hadn't heard of anyone else that had joined that way (or tried)  Has anyone that reads this joined online?  or had the same troubles as dancingwolf38?

I joined last year through the website as a member-at-large and had no problems. This year I renewed online too. Everything (bills, memberships, etc.) have to be online for me since I travel so much for work.  Wink

For those on the road and in the air a lot, I recommend becoming a life member.  Eliminate annual membership renewals.  To reduce junk mail, you can ask to be placed on Nat'l Do Not Mail List.  Then just surf the web sites (and blog) of Nat'l and your Dept.[/color]
