Hi my name is Carla D'Antonio and I saw the ad for a cook to feed y'all on Sunday mornings!!

I am an amazing cook, recently I won 1st place at the Chili Cookoff in Williams, OR (Sept 06) and I will defending my title this September.  My passion comes from feeding others and sharing my talent!

In addition, I would consider it a great honor to cook for you and feed your souls as well as your bellies.

I look forward to speaking with you and building a lasting friendship...one marked by great meals and laughter.

Please call me at 541-441-7980 or 541-471-6328

thank you.

Respectfully,

Carla D'Antonio

Better late than never to make my entry here. I am not a member of any post, and I am not technically a vet, because I was discharged honorably during boot camp in 1975 at Parris Island as a result of sauntering around the barracks while sound asleep. The seven week experience left me in the best physical condition of my young life at that point, and very much in tune with the military mindset. My heart and soul continue to be with those who serve, and even more so since September 11, 2001. This is the reason that I wholeheartedly intend to serve in a civilian sense to meet the needs of the ones that serve in the military. I welcome any feedback about the thoughts I leave at this site.

phs1,
Welcome to the forum.  If you have a family member, father, brother, uncle, etc.  that meets eligibility criteria for the VFW, you should consider joining or starting a VFW Men's Auxiliary at a VFW Post in your area.  You will find lots of help here on the forum.
If you surf the forum, I am sure you will come up with many ideas of how you can help support our troops.  Duplication of something that already works and is successful is one way.  Example: Some groups send boxes or support backpacks to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  They are filled with toiletries, PJ's, under clothers, snacks, games, Cd's etc.  A great help for wounded troops who are transported without any personal effects.   Cool

Rocky,
Welcome to the forums.  If you have any questions just post them here and I am sure someone will answer soon.  You might even get two or three different answers as sometimes we are not all in agreement. LoL

No I'm not a member or a veteran. I was in high school when Vietnam ended. Given that I was born a military brat, peace time held no allure to me.I have been helping my Dad and the guy's at his Post for a long time. Last week we mailed in our charter list for the Men's Auxiliary. It seems I will be running unoppossed for President. My Dad and his five brothers were all Veterans , from WW2 to Vietnam , so this is very important to me.

Welcome Rocky, I am sure you will make a great Aux President because you stood up to accept the challenge.  You already have your family supporting you.  Auxiliaries are very important to a Post and the community.  If you need help or advise, there is lots in the forum.   Cool
