National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) is an organization that has been the voice of Veterans for the last 25 years.

Recently the NVLSP has launched Lawyers Serving Warriors ™, a program that offers pro-bono legal help to veterans whom served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to their website at: http://www.lawyersservingwarriors.com/[/color]]http://www.lawyersservingwarriors.com/

Lawyers Serving Warriors ™ offers pro-bono legal help to veterans serving in Iraq and Afghanistan facing administrative separation, going through a mental evaluation board or physical evaluation board, received an inappropriate discharge characterization, filed a claim with the VA for disability compensation, or having difficulty with a claim under Traumatic Servicemembers Life Insurance.

I can attest to the quality of service this fine organization can provide, having been a recipient of their services myself.  I utilized them when I was going through a Medical Evaluation Board to be separated from military service.  I wasn't happy with the med board's initial informal findings.  With the help of Lawyers Serving Warriors ™ I was able to have my case adjudicated without even having to step into a formal board hearing!  And, I ended up receiving a higher disability rating which resulted in me being qualified for permanent retirement and being placed on the Permanent Disability Retirement List (PDRL).

So if you don't know who else to turn to and require freel legal help, check em' out!  They are well worth it!  Wink

I am a disabled vet living on S.S. disability of $1320 a month. I have lived at my present location for 6 yrs, which is owned by ex-fiancee in Chicago. I paid $250 for about 5 yrs, after breakup she raised it $50, which was fine. Well, now she has a burr under her saddle and is trying to raise it to $700.
I acn not afford a lawyer, isn't there somewhere that I can get some legal help? I am 62 yrs old, on home oxygen and fixed income. I need some legal help, please. Thanks a lot !!!!!

I used to live in N. Chicago.
You need to pay or find another place unless there is a rental contract. Cry

Contact the IL and Chicago Bar Associations. They usually have a list of places you can get free or cheap legal help.
