Hello-I hope this is alright to post this here. I am announcing a new hub located in Springfield, Illinois. Our hub is called "LAND OF LINCOLN HONOR FLIGHT". My name is Jan Gray and I am the Fundraising Director. Our organization website: www.landoflincolnhonorflight.org  Our mission is to provide round trip transportation and accommodations from Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield, Illinois for any WW2 veteran who wishes to visit the WW2 memorial and other memorials in Washington, D.C.. This day trip is providd completely free of charge to the veteran in honor of his/her service. We hope you go to the website and see how to participate or assist a WW2 veteran take "one more trip with honor". Our organization is all volunteer and we only wish to serve those veterans who gave so much for our freedom. They waited over 60 years to finally have a memorial in Washington and their time is running out. If you know of a veteran of WW2, you can assist them with the paper work and mail it to their area hub. This organization needs volunteers and trained guardians for the trips. So, sign up and give a hand. We are utilizing many VFWs for fundraising. Please check the maps on the web page and see if your area could use help. It costs between $20,000-$70,000 per trip, depending on distance, number of veterans on each flight, and what type of airlines are used. When I heard that 1200 of these WW2 vets are dying every day--I jumped on board to give a hand. Take a look on www.youtube.com and query Honor Flight and watch the videos of past flights.
