American troops have been in Afghanistan a year and a half longer than in Iraq. The Taliban government has been removed but Afghanistan peace remains elusive. Alexander the Great, Queen Victoria, and Brezhnev were frustrated in subduing the quarrelsome Afghan tribes. NATO has a similar experience.
The new president has ordered three brigades of combat troops plus support troops, 17,000 soldiers and Marines, to reinforce the 30,000 already in Afghanistan, while he considers goals and an exit strategy. What should he do?

* Send more troops.
* Keep the same number for now.
* Declare victory and bring them all home.

    You are correct in the way the Ross posted the entry.  I thought at the time that it might lead to a little confusion.  It seems to imply that he will post the poll.
