Can anyone tell me if being awarded the MNO medal & being stationed in Egypt for 6 months sometime between 1983-87 could be considered as eligible for VFW membership?

Hello, I was looking this up in response to another posting:

The MFO is actually awarded by NATO. In the case of Egypt, hostile fire/imminent danger pay was issued in 1991 and 1997 to the present. Anyone serving as part of the observer mission in the vicinity of the Sinai is eligible during those time periods. There are exceptions out there, so if you are able to find that they received hostile fire/imminent danger pay, we will be happy to welcome a new member.

Hope that helps.
