Hello my name is Hilbert Allen Smith and I wanted to know if there's any one who could help me with getting help with christmas for my kids. I've been laid off for about an year, and it's breaking my heart not being able to give my kids a christmas this year. If there's any one who can help me get to the channels that I need to go through It'll be very appreciated. Thanks and you can call me at 302-262-0512 or at my email
Has04@comcast.net
.
Thanks,
A loving father

Thanks, it's been awhile since I've really done anything "military" related, since retiring in 2004. But, my purpose in entering this forum is to ask an important question. If someone was investigated for Stolen Valor, then "died" (pretty sure it was suicide, but not certain) before being punished, please tell me that person would NOT be eligible for burial in Arlington??!!!

In our American justice system, being accused is not being guilty. If his/her 214s or what ever paper work is submitted to the funeral director, is deemed correct then Arlington is in order.

Hi, I'm a life member but have not been active. I recently moved to Hendersonville, NC and want to transfer my membership. I did see a VFW sign at 5 points but have never noticed any activity at the building. How can I contact post 5206? ... I spent just twenty yrs in, but looking back, was best time of my life. Panama, Desert Storm.. Stations included Korea(70-72 UN Honor Gd) Germany (8ID/8th Med Bn 79-82 Bad Kreuznach, 90-92 Nurnberg 4/2 ACR), Ft Ord (7ID (2-10 / 2-9 Air Cav 82-86/87-90) , Korea 86-87 (2ID/2nd Avn Bn), Ft Bragg (82nd/1-17 Cav). ...Wow kindof a memory exercise.

VFW Post search site:
https://www.vfw.org/oms/findpost.aspx
shows
VFW Hedrick-Rhodes Post 5206 is located at
900 N Main St, Hendersonville, NC 28792-3600
Phone: (828) 693-5930
Meetings are every 3rd Thursday at 7:00 PM
Quartermaster: Charles Slater
Commander: Matthew Davis
http://www.blueridgenow.com/article/20110826/ARTICLES/110829832
Last August 11 the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206 on North Main Street
closed Monday after the state office suspended its charter.
"Basically what happened was a loss of control and authority at the post level,"
said Bruce Edwards, the N.C. VFW's adjutant/quartermaster. He said post officers
resigned after differences among members.
Don't know if it re-opened. VFW Department at state would know (608) 221-5276
http://vfwofwi.com/
and if it as, can give you current Point of contact.
The Post is also on Face Book.
