This was my Discharge Station. I had been based @ the Amphibious Base on Coronado.
My home was Naval Housing @ National City. Really loved CA but wife wanted seasons.
The station was not run as well as the Norfolk Receiving station!

My first ship was homeported at "32 Street" (as we sometimes called it then) San Diego.  I liked it there, except for the parking.  I was also stationed at North Island, NTC, Ballast Point, and the Amphib were I was discharged.

I was stationed there at a Pre-Comm, 5" school, plankowner of my 2nd ship there, joined Antietam in the Gulf and returned to homeport there, now stationed at NAB Coronado.  I like the weather, but the Navy needs to realize the usefulness of multilevel parking.  Damn penny-pinchers.

I was stationed at NAS North Iland (sp) on board the USS CONSTELLATION.

Same here, 76-79. I was onboard William H Standley CG-32 down on 32nd Street in 79 as a result of split sea tour and made my third WestPac deployment in four years. After 121 days at sea PIRAZ/AAWC and a casualty to our boiler due to a flare back, we made repairs in Diego Garcia, and limped back to Subic Bay where I spent the next 5 years.
