Looking for some help with VFW Post information
« on: August 09, 2012, 09:06:32 am »
Hello, I am new here and looking for some assistance if possible.

I am a recently retired AF vet living in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina. I began my 23 years of AF service in 1988 at George AFB in California. Over the years I was deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm for 11 months, Operation Northern Watch, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Joint Forge, and others. I ended my deployments in 2007 with a "fun" tour of Bagdad in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

After some persuasion by a NC VFW friend, I would like to join a local VFW to find some support networks with others who have served. I am interested in attending a meeting at the Walter N. Brownell Post 3137 located at the Isle of Palms in South Carolina. It's only about 3 miles from where I live.

Unfortunately, when I go to their website  http://www.vfwwebcom.org/sc/post3137, there is no real information about when they meet; nor is there a contact person listed from whom I can find the information.

Wondering if anyone can help me learn how to get into contact with this VFW??

Thanks!

You might try contacting the Post Email at;
cdrpost3137@sc.vfwwebmail.com
Also, try cdr@sc.vfwwebmail.com
These are for the Post 3137 Commander and State Commander.
If they have a Post Home, you might see if they have information there.

Google "vfw post 3137" and clik on the second entry "google plus".  It will take you to a screen that gives you the Post phone number and a description of a Friday night steak dinner that don't sound too bad.

Also, if they have a kitchen, they probably have a canteen.  Stop in, and if you like what you see, apply right there.

{Guess I could have just posted the phone number but wasn't sure that would be appropriate)
