Hi I'm David Stipek

I'm retired and live in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  Married 3 Beautiful Daughters (Same goes for there Mom )

The help I need is trying to contact my Post.  I have tried several different ways but have yet to get a response.
Post #5434 Brown and Small in Union, Ohio.

Issue:
Somewhere I have misplaced my Gold Metal Lifetime VFW Membership Card.  I have paper copies from 1993-1995 #5206262 and in 1996 I paid for Lifetime Membership.

Can anyone help me get a replacement copy?  My Address is:

There are no Gold Metal Membership Cards anymore. They are all plastic now (if you get a replacement from National) and if you would like to buy a metal one you need to go through the supply and emblem catalog. Here is the link:

If you wish to have the VFW send you a new plastic Life Member card you can order it yourself on the National website:

I tried to logg in and do it myself (Thank you!) but the only reference's I have to any Membership at all are Paper Cards 1993, 1994, 1995 and 93's member # is different then 94's and 95's (they are the same) System could not find any reference to #5206262 (which is the paired numbers) in system. So I am sure that 1996 (Lifetime) is a different number also.

I hae tried to find a email for my Post, or some type of contact... to no avail!  This is why I finnaly posted online here.   Hoping someone in the know from my Post will see and help out.  If anyone can get replacement mailed to me from HQ, that is good!

We have VFW's here in Thailand I have been told...  Try to find One... But it would help here as when Boarder Police see VFW Card I get Respect, and my wife for Marrying me...I guess 

So I am still hoping someone sees my delema.....

My only other suggestion would be to call or e-mail National. They will be able to help. I would also say to contact the Department of Ohio, they should be able to help you contact Post #5434 Brown and Small in Union, Ohio.

The only way to get a metal "gold" membership card (like mine) from National is to become a Gold Legacy Member. I 'clang' it on the table at meeting time.   LOL

I don't know why no one thought to suggest writing to the Post's physical address.  I assume they can still receive postal mail.  Try this:

If still no response after a reasonable period, Department of Ohio should be able to help.  Essentially, you just need your membership number to request a replacement card.  Incidentally, do you receive your issues of VFW Magazine?  My life membership number appears just above my name on the address label.

C. Hunter and Everyone else who tried...

1st.... I do not receive the Magazine here in Thailand... Wish I did!

2nd.... I have an issue with Membership Numbers.
In 1993 I was assigned #8634708
In 1994 I was assigned #5206262
In 1995 I was given same Number again (35206262)

Quartermaster was Robert Johnson at these years (he signed my cards)

So I am assuming I was given same Membership Number as Lifetime Member in 1996.

Now I have Emailed National and was to get a reply within 48 hrs on May 10th 2012. I have Quietly for a reply... as of today 19 July 2012... none has come.

If someone has the way to forward this information to My Post, as mail does not seem to get delivered from overseas. I have also sent two letters to them.  At least they are not answering.  My Email has been the same for over 40 years, they or anyone could at least confirm what happening to me, so I know someone tht alive is receiving and responding

When there, create an Online Membership System Account (OMS)
Once registered, you can update your address yourself.

Continuous Member # will change once going Life. It did for me in that timeframe.
