VFW National Commander to Visit Poland in October

The Commander-in-Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., Glen M. Gardner, Jr., will arrive in Poland on Oct. 17th for a two day visit.  While here he will meet with U.S. Embassy officials and make contact with a local Polish veterans’ organization.  Before arriving in Warsaw, Mr. Gardner will visit Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia, where he is scheduled to meet U.S. and Russian government officials, as well as Russia’s two largest veterans associations to discuss Russia’s cooperation in accounting for U.S. missing service members.  After leaving Poland, he will visit with U.S. military personnel in Vicenza, Italy. 

VFW national officers undertake foreign travel and fact-finding trips to gain firsthand knowledge of military and diplomatic operations around the world and across the nation.  This month (September) the VFW commander-in-chief will also travel to the People Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.
