About 125 members, guests, and visitors attended the Veterans
Day Open House at the Post Home. The
fish-fry, ably handled by Comrade Max Tyndell and his grandson, was the usual
great production, and the side dishes contributed by the members of the Ladies
Auxiliary and other friends of the Post were just great.
The Raffle Drawing and Silent Auction raised around $900.00 for
the Veterans Relief, Ladies Auxiliary and the Danny Stewart memorial Trust Fund
for support of the Cadets in the Wetumpka High School Junior ROTC program. Thanks to all our supporters who donated
items for the Raffle and Auctions ? special thanks to Wal-Mart, Eastdale Mall,
Capitol Chevrolet, Chili?s, Hair Care and all other merchants who supported our
cause.
Ted Calhoun and
Chaplain Lee Webb were the lucky winners of the Grand Prize Happy Baskets in
the Raffle drawing.
The hard work and efforts of Roger
Rowe, Kathy Rowe,
our Ladies Auxiliary President, Jessica Waller, Esther Stewart, and Edna Morgan
were especially appreciated ? thank to you and everyone who so generously gave
of your time to make the day a great success.
