I was born at Fort Belvoir, Virginia in 1971 and grew up in northern Virginia. After enlisting in the National Guard as an infantryman, I attended Marion Military Institute where I was commissioned, and later Auburn University. I have served in the Army for 17 years in a variety of assignments in both the active and reserve components including the XVIII Airborne Corp (Ft. Bragg, NC), 1st Cavalry Division (Ft. Hood, TX), and 3rd Army/ARCENT (Ft. McPherson, GA). I served in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001 and 2002, and am currently assigned to United States Transportation Command.
I am participating in the Resolve to Win March to support our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines serving overseas in Iraq. Our troops are doing a great job with a very challenging task. They ask for very little, but deserve the nation's support and gratitude. Further, our troops deserve the support of our elected officials to ensure they are resourced and utilized in a manner which allows them to come home with closure and success.
