I was born in Santa Monica, California in 1951 and grew up around Hollywood since my father was a TV producer and director. However, from an early age, I wanted to be an Army Officer. I attended USC, taking ROTC at UCLA, graduating in 1974 and joining the Army as a 2LT. I served for 26 years with seven years overseas in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. My service includes two years at sea assigned to the Atlantic Fleet, one year at Marine Corps Schools, two tours as battalion commander and service with Special Ops and the 82d Airborne Division. I have served in four combat zones including Bosnia, Lebanon, Dessert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. I retired in 2000 and taught Army Junior ROTC in California. I was recalled after six years for a final tour with Multi-National Force, Iraq HQ.
I am a Life member of the VFW an Annual member of the AM Legion, a Life member of the AMVETS and a Life member of the 82nd Abn Division Association.
